Hello,

Is there a way I can change Windows Media Player's background color ? (I'm
using WMP Control version 6.4.09.1130)

Thanks!

I haven't used that control for ages (and TBH beither should you ;-)

I think the setting there should be Player.DisplayBackColor = #FFFFFF
- although it may take named colours it ought to take hex colours too

Re: Windows Media Player background color

I'm trying to change the play control's and volume control's background
color, not the zone displaing clip, author, copyright, etc.

Imagine you're using WMP Control on a form having different color (lets say
red), and you wanna display only play controls and volume control.

What settings are required in order to have "a red WMP" ?

OK in that case you'll have to create the player "skin" using a series
of images and javascript to handle clicking on the buttons and so
forth. You really really want to use the player 9 object model for
that though.

An alternative might be to customise some of the player templates
provided in the expression media encoder to make the colours there red
(it won't take long in a good web editor)

http://www.microsoft.com/expression/...px?key=encoder

Check in the section 'publish perfect experiences' (yuck) then the Job
Templates section, which you'll be able to see in the installed
encoder at the bottom of the right hand panel.

The publish settings will create all the javascript and template files
needed for a silverlight player, although that isn't the same as the
media player control - your users will have to download the
silverlight activeX until it becomes available on windows update.

Sorry, I don't really know any useful C#, I'm a PHP programmer. You
would be better posting on the windowsmedia.sdk newsgroup, in addition
you should provide specifics / example code so people there can better
help you.
