Player v11 installed, won't play .MOV files

Yesterday I updated my Windows XP with Service Pack 2 and WMP to version 11. After the upgrade process when I tried playing a MOV file (which was working fine before) it says it cannot play this video. As mentioned in this KB article, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/316992 MOV files are supported with Windows Media Player. Than whats the problem with my system? Somebody please help.

Re: Player v11 installed, won't play .MOV files

Well as I can see in the same KB article, they have mentioned “Only QuickTime files version 2.0 or earlier can be played in Windows Media Player. Later versions of QuickTime require the proprietary Apple QuickTime Player. For more information, visit the following Apple Web.” So according to this, if the MOV files are later then v2.0 you will need Quicktime or any alternate such media player.
