    codec "1" Error C00D10D1

I bought an MP3 from a website and saved it on my desktop. Now when am trying to play the same on Windows Media Player (Windows XP), I get an error code C00D10D1 with the following message:

“The codec you are missing is not available for download from this site. You might be able to find it on another site by searching the Web for "1" (this is the WaveFormat or FourCC identifier of the codec).”

Well this is the first time I heard about any codec named “1” and I don’t know how to search it on google. I gave a a try but dint got any appropriate result. Can anyone of you please tell me where can I get the same?

That indeed really strange. I mean a codec name “1”. If we search “1’ in Google, I can assume what result we gonna get. So, even I don’t have any idea about this codec but I know one alternative that will fix your problem for sure. Just download Therica codec package. I am using the same since years and never had any problem with any file format. If you want you can download it from here.

Are you sure jean that you never had any problem with this codec? Because I have used it once long before and my WMP use to crash more than 10 times a day. When I did some troubleshoot on the same I came to know that the codec contains mmswitch.ax which causes WMP to crash.

So better download K-Lite codec or DivX. They are thebest so far according to me.

Yes I think maybe I am having the same problem.

I'm running vista with WMP11 and my old mp3's that used to work no longer do on my new system. The missing codec is the Microsoft MPEG-1 (50) codec, which I have had no luck in finding on ther internet anywhere. I read a forum saying to reinstall DX9.0C to get the codec, but another poster advised against this because of the DX10 driver installed on the system.

Any further information on this problem would be appreciated.
