Windows Media Player in slow motion and sound slow too

I recently had to rebuild my hard drive and I installed WMP11 as part
of the process. Now some, but not all, video files play in slow
motion and the sound is also slow. I cannot find a commonality in the
slow playing files (different sources, mpg, avi, etc.) Any ideas on
what might be causing this?

Pentium M, 2gHz, 1GB RAM, so I doubt it's resources. File compression
is also not a factor.

Any ideas on what might be causing this? Prior to my rebuild I never
experienced this issue. Thanks!

Got the same issue on Vista. I believe the problem began after
installing Nero 9 with DirectX 9.0c (which is a requirement for Nero
and which, if I may believe Nero Support, does not conflict with the
Vista build-in DirectX 10).

Unfortunately, I haven't found a way to fix it yet.
