cannot get the Sharp G.726 Audio (45) codec to work in WMP 11

I have few media files in .asf format recorded with Sharp DigiCam. Whenever I try playing these files with Windows Media Player on Windows Vista, it generates an error message saying Missing Codec with error code C00D10D1. Somebody suggested me to download “Sharp G.726 Audio (45)” code. I did it but still facing the same error. Any help would be appreciated.

From where (which site) did you downloaded the codec? Was it from official Sharp website? If not, you must always download it either from manufactures official sites or from Windows Media Player Plugin website, that is here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/w...oads/wmplugins

I just did a search on Google for the codec and downloaded it from the very first site I got on the result. Not sure whether it was official. BTW, I visited the plugin site you mentioned above but dint got it anywhere over there. Any more help please?

I think you need to contact Sharp manufacturer because as far as I know in order to play local ASF playback on Vista, the vendor would need to provide a Media Foundation Transform (MFT) and I doubt if Sharp has any such thing.
