I have a Dell Axim which is connected with Windows XP and Windows Media Player 11. I have set Axim with ActiveSync 3.8 and need to update the driver . But as soon as I start Windows Media Player I get an error message saying:

“Your device is using an outdated driver that is no longer supported by Windows Media Player. For additional assistance, click Web Help.”

Tried to search web for any solution but the only thing I found is to use AS3.8 with PPC 2003. I went with the same but still the same problem. Can someone help me with this?

I once had Axim X3i and was facing the same problem with Windows Media Player. After lots of research I finally came to know that WMP 11 has resolution problem with these devices and hence create the error. So the best solution to get rid of this is to roll back to Windows Media Player 10. I did the same and never had any problem again.

Thank you Andrus, removing Windows Media Player 11 and installing version 10 fixed the problem.
