| wmp11 beta2 driver error creative zen microphoto
I just clean installed Windows XP sp2, and downloaded all available msft critical updates. So I started with WMP 9 by default. My Creative Zen Microphoto mp3 player wasn't recognized in Device Manager so I updated to WMP10. Device manager then recognized my Zen Microphoto, everything worked fine. Then I upgraded to WMP11beta2. In Device Manager I now see a yellow exclamation next to 'USB Device'. So I uninstall that, and remove the Zen Microphoto from the pc. When I reattach the Zen Microphoto the Found New Hardware Wizard appears and ends up giving me the following error... There was a problem installing this hardware: USB Device An error occurred during the installation of the device A service installation section in this INF is invalid. Click finish to close the wizard. This is a new problem to WMP11 beta 2. My device was recognized just fine in WMP11 beta 1. I rolled back to WMP10 and everything was ok again. With WMP10 Device Manager shows my mp3 player under Portable Devices>Creative Zen MicroPhoto. I downloaded WMP11 beta2 several times, clean installing Windows XP each time and found the exact same error. Prior to all of this I was using Windows XPsp2 with WMP11 beta 1 and had no problems. So i'm back to using WMP10 because I can't find a WMP11beta1 download link... which is a shame because otherwise WMP11 rocks. |

:o) your post was like "deja vu", strange someone writting what I was doing and it wasn't me! Mine was a simple system restore. I used the system tool for running restores backwards by date and went back to 10/1 then attempted to reinstall the MP3 player. Seems like there was a compatabilty issue somewhere. I'm happy to say(estatic really :o) we've "ripped" our first CD! :o) I'm either very slow, or very proud of who is in me! Good luck with yours "cwood00" wrote: > I just clean installed Windows XP sp2, and downloaded all available msft > critical updates. So I started with WMP 9 by default.
