| Urge Flash Error
I recently installed WMP11 beta for the express purpose of trying out Urge. I've installed Urge (both through WMP and the website), but whenever it tries to access the main Urge homepage, I receive an Error Not Found: FlashNotInstalled message on the page. I have reinstalled Flash and Shockwave, and confirmed they are correct via the Adobe test page. I am using Win XP Pro SP2, IE6, and am the administrator for the machine. It is a home computer that I access work with occassionally via VPN. I'm running ZoneLabs Internet Security Suite. Any advice would be very much appreciated. |

| RE: Urge Flash Error
Nevermind. Here's what it was, in case any other poor soul finds themselves with the same problem: A few things conspired to cause this issue. First, I don't think WMP liked that I'm a Firefox user now, because though the upgraded Flash worked fine in Firefox, when I had the brilliant idea to try in IE, it didn't work. It became clear that Flash was only half-installed. After a couple hours of trial and error, and more blue language than I care to admit, I tracked down the true problem. Apparently, my wife's Win ID was somehow tied to the original Flash installation. Because of this, I couldn't install Flash through my side of Windows. They have some strange permission issues with the Flash installer that are documented in the Adobe knowledge base. Bottom line is that I had to uninstall from my side, then log in to Windows using my wife's account, then upgrade Flash from her account, then reboot. At that point, flash was updated throughout, and I did a happy dance and shed a single tear. If you find this post helpful, be glad I took the time to write it. Do this for somebody else -- they'll appreciate it. |

Well, I just re-did my windows and I tried installing flash player and when I try downloading it, it doesn't do anything it says it downloaded, but there is a system error or something like that. Could you give me a walk through of how to fix this problem? I need flash player to view videos etc... |
