| Buffer overflow in 11 Public Beta
I get buffer overflows once in a while. I get it when I try to play certain video streams from Urge. Once one came up when windows was locked. I was notified by McAfee Enterprise 8i. The definitions for overflows are version 131. They have this to say in the log: C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe::GetProcAddress bo:heap Once I clear McAfee, WMP crashes and only can be closed by End Process in the Task Manager. Thought u might want ot know of this bug. |

| RE: Buffer overflow in 11 Public Beta I've had this same error occur on two different computers. Normally seems to happen at the end of the first song in a playlist. Both computers had McAfee virus scan enterprise 8.0.0 running. Once it crashes the behaviour is same as described by the previous poster "D. White" wrote: > I get buffer overflows once in a while. | Re: Buffer overflow in 11 Public Beta
This is not just a WMP11 beta problem. I have exactly the same issue with WMP10 and Macafee buffer overflow protection. "wnewton00" wrote: > > We have the same exact problem on 1 of my user's pcs > > |

"What exactly does it say when you're doing what?" I am getting buffer overflow in Media Player 11, as detected by MacAfee virus protection: "McAfee has automatically blocked a buffer overflow. File: C:\PROGRA~1\WINDOW~2\wmplayer.exe" It happens immediatley when I start the player. But only when I start by double-clicking a shortcut or double-clicking a movie file such as *.wmv. Nu such message when Media Player starts from the run command or a command line. What plug-ins are enabled in the player? None "When did this start happening?" It seems, after I installed Netflix Movie viewer and Quick Time, This problem occurred. I am running Windows XP, service pack 3. |
