Buffer overflow in 11 Public Beta

I get buffer overflows once in a while. I get it when I try to play certain
video streams from Urge. Once one came up when windows was locked. I was
notified by McAfee Enterprise 8i. The definitions for overflows are version
131. They have this to say in the log:

C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe::GetProcAddress bo:heap

Once I clear McAfee, WMP crashes and only can be closed by End Process in
the Task Manager. Thought u might want ot know of this bug.

RE: Buffer overflow in 11 Public Beta

I've had this same error occur on two different computers. Normally seems to
happen at the end of the first song in a playlist. Both computers had McAfee
virus scan enterprise 8.0.0 running. Once it crashes the behaviour is same as
described by the previous poster

Thanks, that's good information to have. I've passed it along to see if
that helps us reproduce the problem...

Re: Buffer overflow in 11 Public Beta

This is not just a WMP11 beta problem. I have exactly the same issue with
WMP10 and Macafee buffer overflow protection.

Buffer over flow in Media Player 11

I am getting buffer overflow in Media Player 11, as detected by MacAfee virus protection. It happens immediatley when I start the player. It was working. Then, it seems, after I installed Netflix Movie viewer and Quick Time, This problem occurred. I am running Windows XP, service pack 3.

What exactly does it say when you're doing what? What plug-ins are enabled
in the player? When did this start happening?

"What exactly does it say when you're doing what?"

I am getting buffer overflow in Media Player 11, as detected by MacAfee
virus protection:

"McAfee has automatically blocked a buffer overflow. File: C:\PROGRA~1\WINDOW~2\wmplayer.exe"

It happens immediatley when I start the player. But only when I start by double-clicking a shortcut or double-clicking a movie file such as *.wmv.
Nu such message when Media Player starts from the run command or a command line.

What plug-ins are enabled in the player?
None

"When did this start happening?"
