| Philips GoGear HDD6330
My Philips GoGear HDD6330 isn't recognized by WMP 11. Although it still shows up as a device in Explorer, I cannot accesses anything through explorer (it's blank). Obviously the simple answer is that the Philips GoGear isn't compatible with WMP 11. But I was just curious if anyone had a similar problem with other mp3 players or if anyone had a workaround. Thx! |

Same thing for me with a Philips HDD1630/17. Had to roll back to WMP 10 to get anything to work. Too bad, WMP 11 looks pretty nice On 17 May 2006 12:10:39 -0700, "Jim" <keithjd@gmail.com> wrote: >My Philips GoGear HDD6330 isn't recognized by WMP 11. I have the same problem with a Samsung YP-T7J, which is supposed to be compatible with WMP11 according to the Microsoft website. Eevn worse, now I can't even add files to the folder with Explorer. Not sure what to do.... "BobP" wrote: > Same thing for me with a Philips HDD1630/17. Those with Philips devices: Can you post your firmware version and if you are using USB 1.1? All: What happens if you remove the device from device manager and then reinstall it? All postings are provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confer no rights. Philips GoGear HDD1630; firmware v. 2.1; I am using USB 1.1. When I try to synchronize some music, only the first track synchronizes, and then WMP11 freezes (apparently waiting for some confirmation from the device before synchronizing the second track?). Firmware is 2.1 (the website shows it as a 5/2/2006 update) and USB 2.0 The first track syncs, then just freezes. Tried removing the device, reinstalling, reinstalling on a different USB, etc to no effect. Firmware 2.1 for hdd6330. and I'm using USB 2.0. I have all the latest drivers and firmware available from the Philips support site. I did uninstall the drivers from Add/Remove programs to no avail. I'll try to remove the device and reinstall and see what happens in Device Manager next. Thx! |

That seems to have worked! I can see everything through windows explorer (with a nice icon that looks like my player) and it's showing up in WMP! I'm performing a sync right now. It looks like I'm having a sync issue. It does the first 8 songs ("Already on Device") and then appears to quit. |

I've still been trying to sync, but this time I got errors on the first 8 files. But there was no specific error message reported. Anyone been able to resolve this issue? tia! |

i have the HDD6320 - and i re formated teh entire thing, (from WMP11 tiself), and it then filled out the entire drive. and worded normally. HOWEVER, since then it now failes to sync :(. It has a mixture of "already on device" and "stopped" messages. This is really frustrating. I hope there is a solution otherwise i'll have to roll back :-( -- William Dowell. I have firmware 2.1 and using USB 2.0. Found I'm having the same problems...the first file syncs, then the player stalls and won't sync anything else. I've since rolled back to WMP 10, but I'm finding that my system will now not recongnize the hdd6330 at all. I will attempt to uninstall the drivers associated and let windows rediscover it. Is there any word as to why this is happening? I know WMP 11 is still in beta, so no real support yet...just wondering if anyone has found any solution yet? Thanks, Craig "William Dowell" wrote: > i have the HDD6320 - and i re formated teh entire thing, (from WMP11 tiself), > and it then filled out the entire drive. and worded normally. > > HOWEVER, since then it now failes to sync :(. Okay, I know why now. There is no work around. You can either downgrade your firmware to pre 2.0 or roll back to WMP10. Look in device manager for all Philips devices and delete them, then reattach the player. That worked for me. Now there's a cryptic message! Any details you can share with us? Is this something that will be addressed in the final WMP 11 release, or is it something Philips needs to take care of in firmware?
