I want to rotate movies in sideways on VLC

I am using the VLC media player or watching videos and playing music files. I have installed the same on my system a few days back and it is doing well till now. But one query that is worrying me a lot that is it possible for me to rotate the screen sideways while watching any particular movie. I have tries to move it but failed every time in fact i really don't know how to do it perfectly.The thing here is that whenever I open a video file in the horizontal format and I am asking you whether I can move the same vertically. Does anybody ever have did the same thing if yes then please let me know how to do it. And take me out of this issue.

To rotate any particular video you have to follow the below steps:

First of all open a video file in the VLC media player.
Stop the file from playing
Then you have to select the TOOLS option from the VLC player window
After that you have to select the EXTENDED settings options
As you will select this then a new “Adjustments and effects” window will open
It will have three tabs saying that Audio effects, Video effects and Synchronizations
Then just select the video effects which will give you five more different tabs and in that you have to select the “Geometry “tab
And then under that you will find the checkbox saying that “ROTATE” just click on that box
Also you can set the angle through which will give you far better and your own view.
And then just select close option and then start the video again.

I have gone through your problem and it seems to me that I can help you in this case, to set the video sideways what you have to do is just go to the tools of the VLC media player and then just select the preferences option and then select “ALL” to show the detailed settings. After that you have to go to videos and then to filters and then select the rotate option. This will rotate the video in the direction you want. And if still you are not able to do the same then I think the codecs are missing. So find the appropriate codecs and then install the same on your system.

Well I thing I have the answer for your query. Actually it is very easy to rotate your video in VLC media player. And to do the same you need to follow the below mentioned steps:

First of all you have to download the latest and the updated VLC media player and install the same on your system.
Now you have to open any video with the help of these media player.
After that do just one thing click on the “TOOLS” option available on the media payer
Then just select the effects and filters from the dropdown list.
After selecting it a new “Adjustments and effects” window will open.
In that you have to select the Video effects tab
There you will find the option rotate by degrees option just click on it.
Once you will click the same you will get the list of what all directions available in which you can rotate the video. So just select the one which suits you the best.
You will find this all options:-
