C00D1199 Error while playing Video File

Recently I have downloaded a file from Pirate bay, it's a audio file. When I am trying to play the file I am getting a error code. The Audio file is listed as a Mp3 file on my desktop, but windows media player is not able to play it. I am not tech savvy when it come to a computer, can you please tell me whether I need to download different player to play this file on my system or its related to codec ? Please help...

I was doing a video with a digital camera and suddenly extinguished m (without batteries) and now trying to open the video will not let me, I get that does not recognize the file type or codec. Then to fix that I had installed Windows Media Player 9. I installed the pack of codecs you told me, and not resolve anything. Try the another player such as QuickTime.
