C00D1199 Error while playing Video File

Hi I wonder if anyone can help. I got the above error code when i had
downloaded a file from pirate bay it was an audio file and it is listed on my
screen as an mp3. but windows media player wont play it. I am a bit thick
when it comes to computers so can you tell me do i need to download a
different player or is it something to do with codecs. Any help would be
great thankyou.

I was doing a video with a digital camera and suddenly extinguished m (without batteries) and now trying to open the video will not let me, I get that does not recognize the file type or codec. Then to fix that I had installed Windows Media Player 9. I installed the pack of codecs you told me, and not resolve anything. Try the another player such as QuickTime.
