Error C00D11B1 media player

I am using Windows Vista laptop with WMP11. It was working fine so far but from couple of days am just unable to play anything in Media Player. Whenever I try playing any Audio or video, I get an error message saying “the program has encountered a problem”. The same files can be played comfortably in iTunes.

I don’t have even idea what should I do to fix it. Can anyone help me with this? Many thanks.

Just try out these steps and see if it works:

Open Windows Media Player, Press F3 key. This will bring up “monitor Folders”. Just click on the Advanced Button and re-add your files and folders. As soon as you will add the folder, WMP will start scanning and correct its library database to the new file locations.

Once the process is completed, better restart WMP and see if you get the problem again.

I dont know if this will help anybody else but i do support at my job and i fixed this issue by going into media player options and selected auto detect proxy and this corrected my callers issue. may or maynot help just thought i'd share
