| NEW Computer low on memory error in WMP
Just thought I'd post this more recently. The last two posters ("Lango" and me) both have HP machines (I have one laptop, one desktop) that have stopped running .wmv email attachments. We get the "Your computer is running low on memory" error. Is it an HP update gone wrong? Is it a Vista update gone wrong? My computer's memory is fine, thanks. I think it's a software glitch. Anybody have any ideas? Yes, I've looked on the HP forums. Thanks! Lango - That sounds like dittos all around for me. It's been about the same amount of time that both of my HP machines stopped running .wmv email attachments. Could it be an HP update? Or Windows Vista? I don't even know how to check or un-do what's been done "Lango" wrote: > To provide additional detail: My low memory problem started around 6-11-09 > after I ran 13 updates (all successful). All pcs have ram memory & virtual memory.Even if a pc ran with 10GB of ram memory you could still have "low on memory" errors if the virtual memory is'nt set properly.Try,R.click my computer, properties, advanced, virtual memory, change button, set C: to "let system manage" click set 2X,close out, restart pc... | RE: NEW Computer low on memory error in WMP
Hi Andrew, I checked virtual memory and have a better more than 4GB, it already is system managed, with 2337MB currently allocated. The screen to adjust V-Memory settings has the selections inactivated (greyed-out), so I'm not sure what to do. | Re: NEW Computer low on memory error in WMP Nah, this historically have never ever been related to actual memory issues, but rather some aspect of the playback chain requiring 540,000,000,000,000 or other completely corrupt number memory usage. | RE: NEW Computer low on memory error in WMP
Good morning, Windows Update had several items for me today, I ran those as well as downloading to Adobe 9 (with the most current updates). WMV as email attachments now WORK! Go figure... Here's the Windows updates I ran: KB973507, KB971657, KB956744, KB971557, KB968389, KB973540, KB905866, KB890830. Good Luck... I don't know what foxed the problem.
