WMP11 takes long time to load song

Hi,

I remember when I double click a song, WMP11 plays the song basically right
away. Now, when I double click a song, WMP11 will take a long time, maybe 5
seconds, before the song starts playing.

Any idea?

Did anything change on the system... ?

Don't remember... What am I looking for? I think when I try to play a MP4
video file, it grab some plugin from the microsoft website....

MP4 files aren't natively supported in WMP11. If they are working in WMP11,
you added something external to the player. Lots of "packs" do very
negative things, so that could be correlated.

Look like WMP11 is busy when I double click a song the very first time. It
will take 5 to 10 seconds to load something before it plays the song.

After it finish loading whatever it is loading, double click another songs
will play the songs right away.

It is looking for internet connection?

You could test the "looking for connection" theory by using WMP's File:Work
Offline option.

Nope. I click Offline. Same thing.

I also have a laptop running Vista. I try playing some song from the
laptop. When I double click a song, WMP11 from my laptop plays the song
right away. The hour glass comes up but it does play the song right away.

In my desktop running also Vista, when I double click a song, the same hour
glass also comes up but it takes 5-10 seconds before WMP11 plays the song.

What exactly WMP11 is trying to load with the hour glass popping out?

Running a query to the library? Do I need to compact the database or
something?
