Am using this Windows Vista laptop since 6 months with WMP 11 installed. Earlier I was not having any problem on this laptop or with WMP but since last week whenever I double click any music file or MP4 to play, WMP takes about 10 to 15 seconds to load and start the track. I don’t think this is normal.
Do anyone of you have any idea whats went wrong with the same?

Have you made any changes recently on your system? Like any software installation or so? If yes, that could have created some problem. If that is not necessary for you than better try restoring your system to any previous restore point and see if it helps.

No, I dint made any changes to the system in this period but the only thing I noticed is when I try playing any MP4 seems like it searches and tries to grab some kind of plug-in from Microsoft website. That’s all I can say.

As far as I know windows media player is not capable of playing MP4 files unless and until you install any external codec package. So you might have or system would have itself taken various codec packs that have created the issue.
You should checkout Add and Remove programs and uninstall all codecs installed. Once done, download and install K-lite (just one) codec and restart the computer.
Hopefully problem should be solved now.
