error message C00D1199

Hi,
I'm trying to play .wmv and .avi files in Windows Media Player but am
getting the C00D1199 error message. This didn't happen a week ago, and I have
no idea what has caused it. I have downloaded/updated the DivX codec, and
uninstalled KM Player and Orbit (I downloaded those 2 a few days ago and it's
since then that I've noticed these files are not playing in Windows Media).
Any help would be much appreciated... thanks
