| WMP won't play some MP3's
I've searched and found similar problems but can't fix my problem. I have mp3's that will play in WMP and a week later or sometimes a month later, they won't play. I notice in Windows Explorer window that the ones that quit playing have lost most all of its info when you stop the arrow over the name. All it says is MP# format and size of file when before it listed artist, album, length and such. I tried opening the file in NERO waveeditor and then saving but that didn't help. Anyone have a solution? error message C00D11B1 Windows XP and WMP 11 Thanks Jeff Last edited by jtindle : 02-06-2009 at 02:25 AM. |

If so, sounds like they got corrupted somehow. Especially since the MP3 tags are missing (arrow over file). Yet Nero WaveEditor opened them up? Did they play under Nero? Say did these files see a Linux system by chance? Sorry for the questions, but I need to know more. -- Bill Asus EEE PC 702G8 ~ 1GB RAM ~ 16GB-SDHC |

NERO would not open them and no, I have no Linux system but I do put them on a Maxtor external harddrive. Thanks Jeff |

I go back to WMP today and try to play the same mp3's that wouldn't play yesterday and now they play fine. I open them up in Windows Explorer and do the arrow over file and the tags are back. ANyone know why this would happen? Thanks Jeff |

I'm in KY. Hi Jeff! Oh okay. > NERO would not open them and no, I have no Linux system but I do put > them on a Maxtor external harddrive. Thanks No, I don't see this is being a problem. Although you never know. I have found some of my MP3 music videos that I recorded with my TV card, will sometimes corrupt later. Meaning they will play and sometimes jump ahead or end early. But if I save them in other formats, I never have a problem with them. So I suspect that MP3 files can easily become corrupted somehow. But how or why yet is still a mystery to me. -- Bill Asus EEE PC 702G8 ~ 1GB RAM ~ 16GB-SDHC |
