WMP 12 Constantly Updating Library

Every time that I open WMP 12, it starts to update the library. It's a big
pain since I have a large collection. At one point I left it alone and let it
update, thinking that it needed time to index all of the files. But when I
opened it again, it started all over. I've turned off all of the options to
have it connect to the internet, but it doesn't seem to help. At this point
it's impossible for me to listen to stuff, esp. music that is at the end of
the alphabet because I have to wait for WMP to get to it. Anyone else having
this problem or know of a solution. Thanks.

Did you try stopping the Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service and
*then* using WMP's Tools:Advanced:Restore Media Library menu tool?
