windows media player not adding any of my music to library!!!

This is Windows Xp SP2 running with Windows Media Player 11. There are no files in “Monitor Folder” of my WMP because it wont allow me to add any. Whenever I try to add a folder, nothing happens. No error nothing. And due to this am not able to add anything in my Windows Media Player library.

Somebody please help me out of this. Thank you.

This happens when you library has any file and have been deleted. In such cases WMP wont allow you to add them through monitor folder. But when you can do is just drag and drop the files on WMP library. It should add them directly from there. Just try out and let me know the results.

Thanks for the help buddy but that don’t seem to be working for me. I even tried adding them manually but when I quit and start Windows Media Player again, they disappear. I guess that WMP 11 doesn't want to monitor my folders or it is full of bugs.

    Any other help.

Yeah, i've got the same issue.
I'm using WMP12 (Windows 7 OS). I use iTunes as my main media player but I use WMP to stream music to my XBox.
In WMP, i've selected the iTunes music folder to be part of my WMP music library.
The thing is though. every time i add music via iTunes, WMP doesn't update

Most probably your Media library might have got corrupt. Did you check for that? Just open WMP, click Tools, click Advanced and Restore Media Library. This will rebuild the library. Now see if it works fine.
