windows media player network sharing service has stopped working

Hello, I recently updated my vista x64 system hardware with a new
proc/mobo/ram/videocard AND moved the OS to a new hard drive. All is working
well except for one thing. WMP 11 network sharing service crashes over and
over. I've tried:
replacing mf.dll
remove the contents of the DRM folder
I've tried sfc /scannow and got nothing helpful.

Restoring can't do me much good as the points I have are not old enough to
matter.
Sharing has worked perfectly in the past (with my 360).
WMP runs fine and plays music on my machine.

Ideas? Your help is much appreciated

Who told you to replace mf? That's strange advice.

I really find it hard to believe that no-one can fix this. I have read alot of the other threads on this subject and none of them were helpful.

Thank you. I had tried the DRM fix before but last time I could find the DRM folder but there was no files in it. This time there was and it worked. The link to the page about individualizing the DRM crashes IE everytime I try to go there. I can now run media sharing. I just have to figure out how to enable ICS on my PC. I'm trying to connect my xbox through my PC to xbox live but when I click on the properties for the PC's internet connection there is no sharing tab.

I just put a new mb/cpu/mem in my machine (w/Vista Ult 32) 2 days ago and have had the same result.

All other programs transitioned smoothly, except for WMP network sharing service stopping. This also seems to affect a couple other programs I have, such as yahoo music jukebox.

Located error notification, attempted MS suggested fix, no difference. Service "status" was exactly as it was supposed to be, but will not work.

WMP has issues, WM Ctr has issues, and YMJ won't work at all.

Has anyone found an answer/dll yet?

Unfortunately, after looking for and trying other potential "fixes", they did not work and I ended up doing full rebuild (did not have good back-up, my bad).

Msg was just too annoying.

machine runs awesome now- smooth as can be.

But thank you for your help!

p.s.- also have rig running Windows 7 beta. I took the older dual-core 4800 from the machine above and stuck in the Win7 machine- and the fail msg happened again! Only affects Yahoo Music Jukebox, tho- Win Media Player works just fine....
