| no sound streaming radio internet stations
When I click on a internet radio station to listen to it, the dialogue box says ‘ready’ but impossible to get any sound out of it. I tried half a dozen of different stations; all with the same result. There is no error message. I used to be able to listen to internet radio stations before, but for some reason it stopped suddenly. WVista Home Premium WMP 11.0.6001.7000 Thanks for helping! |

| Re: no sound streaming radio internet stations
I am having the same problem with mu real player. My computer is 1 & 1/2 yrs old and my real player worked very well. Now on good it might play for a hr. and then cut off. Sometimes it will go on for a few minutes. I'am new to this forum and I couldn't find new thread starter so I jumped on to your thread. Any help would be apprediated. |

What sort of content are you playing ? Several stations have content which is a single, archived show of up to an hour - others are continuous streams. For example the ones on www.somafm.com are continuously mixed DJ streams, though even then it's paused or stopped before as the DJs have messed up at their end ! Other radio stations might have 1 hour cutoffs for a variety of reasons, e.g copyright / playlist restrictions or to encourage you to see more ads or subscribe. There's nothing inherent to Real Player which cuts off after an hour, though it's possible your internet service provider *might*, especially if you're on dialup and it reconnects every hour to avoid telecoms charges.
