| RE: windows media player/ movie maker error
..Mov is a quicktime (apple) format, which is proprietary. It's a pain in the butt... and honestly, is the reason why I only purchase cameras that use open source formats. Basically, microsoft doesn't want to pay apple to use their format, and us as the consumers get hosed as a result. If there is a way to setup you camera so it records in .mpg or .mov format, that's your best options There are some quicktime to apple converters on the internet. but I haven't found anything free that works well. I've downloaded a couple of trial versions, but haven't found anything that works perfectly yet. Sorry I can't be of more help, maybe someone from Microsoft will have better news for you. Apple Quicktime player will play those. To convert the format, you'd probably be best getting a Quicktime Pro license (which turns the free player into Pro version) and that will then let you export the video in a range of formats, including AVI which moviemaker should be able to read and convert, with a little persuasio.
