| error message C00D1199 & C00D11D4 while using Windows Media Playe
Hi, While playing WMP i am getting an error message-" error message C00D1199 while using Windows Media Player ". i am using windows vista home basic. It plays the file well for about 10 minutes and then all of a sudden gives this error ." Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file." i have taken help from the web page by applying this information as below - (To determine what codec was used with a specific file, play the file in the Player, if possible. While the file is playing, right-click the file in the library, and then click Properties. On the File tab, look at the Audio codec and Video codec sections. i have checked through it's information, that i have File format as Codec - Windows Media Audio 9 Windows Media Video 9 i am in the fix , as to what codec is required to play this . i can also see that it is also listed among as one of the file types the wmp supported ..however i downloaded from - www.wmplugins.com two files namely - Windows Media Video 9 Decoder and Windows Media Audio Standard Decoder . thereafter rebooted the system .but still getting the same problem . pls help - the other error i got one time - was you've encountered error message C00D11D4 while using Windows Media Player. Additional information is not currently available for this error. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Downloading those decoder packages from WMPlugins isn't appropriate for Vista, as WMP11 already includes all the functionality provided by those (I'm now worried you have mixed or out-of-date decoders, which may have made things worse in the long run) The symptom that you can play the file up to a certain point suggests the file itself may be corrupted in some wa. For example a download from a binary newsgroup of a video as RAR, and bad unpacking or incomplete download, might cause corruption way through a long playback. So I guess the questions that arise are - where did the file come from, does this happen with all files over 10 minutes or just this one, and what exact file type is it according to WMP File -> Properties (right click in the area below Now Playing to display that menu) |

hi i am using Windows Vista and Play .avi files in Windows media player 11 but while playing getting message "unable to play - error message C00D1199". I also tried VLC Player but also unable to play same file. \ Can you please help |
