WMP 11 won't reopen after Close to play avi file link in IE7

I have Windows Vista, WMP 11 and IE7. When I click a link to download an avi
file (http://gdpkeyboarding.com/MoviesZimm...Workaround.avi) at
http://gdpkeyboarding.com/Troubleshoot.htm#Annotations_ , the file plays
fine. However, if I close the WMP window, and then click the link to play the
file again, I hear the file playing but the WMP window does not open. I have
to go to Start, Programs, and launch it. Why doesn't WMP just open each time
you play a file? Thanks in advanc.

Is it just a problem with video files? Just with AVI files? Does it only
happen via files opened from IE?

What video card do you have? Is there a driver update available from the
vendor?

It's a problem with AVI files in IE7. I don't have any other browser to test
and I'm not sure what you mean by a video file. What extension would a video
file have?

I have a NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 video card. I checked in Windows for a
driver update and it said I had the latest driver. I checked Device Manager,
Sound, video and game controllers, Conextant High Definition Audio,
Properties, Drive tab, Update Driver, and the driver did need an update,
which Windows installed. I then went back to test the file in IE7 and closed
and reopened without issue, so it looks like updating the audio driver did
the trick. Thanks so much.
