subtitles in windows media player

My windows Media player has gone crazy. There are few DVDs which when played I get the subtitles by default without turning them on. When I go to turn the subtitles off, they are already turned off but still I can see the subtitles going with the movie. And when I turn them on in WMP, I get two subtitles running on my video.

Any idea what is wrong my media player? Let me tell that the problem is with only few DVDs, not with all.

Most probably you might have been running FFDShow that would be creating the problem because it enables various menu options including the subtitle. You can check this by clicking on Now Playing > DVD Tab > Advanced. If there is no Advanced button than FFDShow is not running and cause of the problem would be something else.
