downloads stop after 80%

I offend download some songs or data or games from some site if i download a file which is more than 50 MB, downloading stops, some times it comes to close around 80 % and stops . I have a laptop that runs under Vista and IE 7 . my friend told me to download SpyBot will this work .
need advice thanks

have you tried to download files from other site, where you havent download any things see if that works

I have tired downloading from different site but that didnt work it always stick i 80%

i have tried Mozilla Firefox,opera and any other browser but result the same

the problem is just got worst i was downloading some files from a site and it got stuck after 56% waited for 25 min and after that it despair
please help!
