I have heard that Zylog System's Wi5 Wireless Internet in Chennai gives 2mbps unlimited for only Rs. 1000. They also told that their Wi-Fi connection will work through nodes, which will be installed across the city. This means you will be able to access your internet anywhere in the city without the need of a router. All you have to do is just log in to the Wi5 website and you are online.

I think that BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd.) is the largest 3G network in India covering not only the main town/city but also the adjoining suburbs and rural areas as well. They have also introduced 4th Generation High-Speed Wireless Broadband with minimum speed of 256kbit/s. After that comes, the MTNL, Reliance and so on.
