ADSL modem purchase

Hi,
I am planing to bye a modem .

will ADSL2 will suport my connection and will it actully increase my
speed as I am getting 45 to 50 KBps
and please suggest me a the things that I should keep in mind while buying a new modem .(security )

I have a BSNL 512Mbps home plan (64KBps)
I live aprox. 3 to 4Km from the exchange

Speed of the internet completely depend on the service provider. If you are getting the less speed then it is better to contact the service provider and ask for the same. While you are buying the new Modem you should take care of the Encryption and security. Regarding the compatibility of the modem with your connection, you should ask the Service Provider.
