Cell phone users will eliminate a great source of frustration Wednesday: all telephone subscribers in India will now have the freedom to change providers while keeping their existing numbers. The measure is valid regardless of whether the change is between a provider and a landline phone provider wireless, or vice versa, or between two mobile phone providers, provided they are in the same area call (the same area code).

It's often possible to save money and bring your own number. Basically: First, the customer's existing provider notice that he wants to keep his number. Then he can tell the new provider while filing the form that he wants his old number. Depending on whether one contract or a prepaid customer, resulting in the approach in detail a few differences.

There are some restrictions on local number portability. Local number portability requires the phone number you can switch between the companies offer services in the local area. You can even transfer your landline to a cell phone. However, there are some numbers that cannot be transferred, but they are free, pager number and some other special use of your phone. Depending on the network provider can be a transfer fee. It is best to consult the supplier of the new cell on transfer fees before making the change.

Many providers are ready for it on its website relevant information. Contract customers can apply for such number portability in their old provider before four months before the contract expires. Prepaid customers should pay attention primarily to the fact that they have enough credit, because the costs will be deducted for the number portability of it. Still, expect the provider change. Recently, however, many vendors advertise with free offers. Here it is always important to check whether this is also an appropriately low rate.

Re: Change mobile service provider without changing number

The process of transferring cell phone numbers is quite simple. Each cell phone provider will have their own nuances. Contact the new network provider and the first request to transfer your cell phone number and service to them. The new network provider is responsible for transferring cell phone number. Do not cancel your service with your current provider before spending your cell phone number for the new network provider. Termination of your cellular service provider with your old phone before successfully transferring to another provider number will result in losing your cell phone number. Therefore, follow the new cell phone provider in the transfer of cellular service.
