    Problems with Vodafone GPRS settings

From last five years I have been using Vodafone GPRS but from few weeks I am having problems with the GPRS setting of the Vodafone. The applications installed on my cell are not able to access the internet. Whenever I open the browser it displays for few seconds and then exits. Is there any other way to solve the GPRS problem? Can I change the settings of GPRS.

Re: Problems with Vodafone GPRS settings

You can activate Vodafone GPRS settings through the way of SMS. You just need to send an SMS to Vodafone server to activate Vodafone mobile connect or Vodafone live. There are two types of activation. They are:
    • You can send ACTVL to 52586 to activate Vodafone live i.e. MMS and WAP access.
    • You can send ACT VMC699 to 52586 to activate Vodafone Mobile i.e. Web access on phone or Laptop/PC.

To deactivate the GPRs you need to send:
    • Type CAN VL to 52586 to deactivate Vodafone live.
    • Type ACT VMC199 or ACT VMC499 to deactivate Vodafone Mobile Connect.

To solve GPRS problem you need to do one thing. You must remove the Simcard from your cell phone for some times and reset your cell. For resetting you should call Vodafone customer care and say to REFRESH your account. The customer care will refresh your account in sometimes. Start your cell and clear the cache memory. Launch the browser and start surfing.

Also you can also call Vodafone customer care and ask for the GPRS setting because there might be a possibility that GPRS setting have been modified. when you receive setting save it and start the browser to launch the internet.

When you are in your home location your default Nokia PC suite settings work. But it starts behaving differently as soon as you move into visitor location. You need to do few things in your Vodafone GPRS in order to work it properly:

    1. In your system launch the Nokia PC suite
    2. Click on “connect to internet”. If it starts to connect automatically you can stop it. Then click on configure to configure it.
    3. Select Nokia 5800XpressMusic USB modem.
    4. Click on configure the connection manually and click on “next” button.
    5. Enter “www” in the “access point” fields and leave other fields blank and click on finish.
    6. Then select “connect”. The system will connect using the new settings that you have provided.
    7. Now you are connected to the internet and you can start browsing.
