How to change DNS of MTNL Mumbai broadband from old to new.

I am using MTNL broadband from last few years and I am an old consumer of the MTNL broadband services. Everything was fine but recently having problem with the services. I think this related to the DNS problem. Do I need to do something on the DNS problem please suggest me to get the desired solution? Thanks in advance.

Where do you stay? If you are in Mumbai then do the following changes to get the desired solution. In DNS this changes may help you do the following:

• Change your old DNS which is
  P DNS 203.94.227.70
  A DNS 203.94.243.70
• To the new one
  P DNS 59.185.3.11
  A DNS 59.185.3.12

Hope this may help you to get the desired solution. Try doing this.

Yes this problem may be due to the DNS. I think this can be solved by doing some changes in the DNS. May be you can get the solution after doing these silly changes. If still not getting the solution then you can go to use the Public DNS. It may give you some improvement in the network. Try doing this may be helpful to you.

As you told to use the open DNS which may be help me to get the desired solution. But I want to know that what open DNS are. Are they really helpful to get out of such problems? I want to know that how can I get these and from where. Please help me. A proper solution would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Mainly people use these public ID’s to get out of such problems and you can also use them. Yes these are useful. I am providing you some DNS and try them to get the desired solution. Use these
open DNS:

• primary DNS: 208.67.222.222 and
• secondary DNS 208.67.220.220.

Or
you can also use Google DNS for this problem,

• primary DNS: 8.8.8.8 and
• secondary DNS: 8.8.4.4.

Use these DNS may be they are helpful to you.

I used openDNS for MTNL connection there is definitely a pretty noticeable development, but on Airtel connection, no such enhancement P.S. - the dns were put mechanically previous to in together connection. If anyone discovers improved DNS than openDNS, do send. Please try openDNS previous to. Also, I read regarding DNS at a lot of places, and capable to acquire my hand on it. Still I am not apparent, what can DNS do for the operators?? Are they following us using it? Can this thing be changed using other DNS as OPENDNS? Please suggest me.

NO following or something like that done by it. DNS just decide the website address into IP addresses that is if you type any website’s name in your web browser. Your computer wants the IP address linked with this web address in order to connect to it, consequently it request the DNS server for the IP address. Problem is that a number of DNS servers similar to MTNL get an extended time to supply the answer (that is the IP address) consequently slowing down your browsing. Also at times with reduced DNS the respond never arrive.
