Utorrent download speed drop from 300 KB/s to 180 KB/s using BSNL Broadband Connection

I am having net connection BSNL 600 COMBO and i use DareGlobal 108 db modem and i have Linkys wrh54g router. Using modem in Bridge mode amd configure router on pppoe. I am getting torrent download speed upto 280 kbps from last two years. But from last month I have not made any changes to my setting but my download speed decreases to 150 kbps. I check porst are forwarded correctly and Firewall is disabled. Why utorrent download speed is droped. Please help me what setting should i do to get my back download results.

You have mentioned that your plan speed is 2mbps or 2567 kbps. As per my knowledge whether you are using utorrent download or direct download you should not get more than 256 kbps speed. It is good as you were getting 300 kbps, but now your speed is drop to 150 kbps this is because the BSNL people may have reset your speed to your max speed. this may be the reason why you rae getting less download speed compare to previous.

I think there might be some changes happen in your setting. Do one think Go to utorrent. select options/set up guide. Make sure that the configuration is done correctly and than try to make download using utorrent. If still getting the same result then use good torrents with better seed to peer ratio. I am getting 210 to 240 kbps speed having 2 mbps connection. Hope this might help you to get the same utorrent download speed.

I think you are using earlier versions of utorrent 1.8.x or 2.0.x. The earlier versions of utorrent have overhead issue. Almost 20%-30% of broadbanth connection is being used for overhead. Due to high overhead the speed of torrent becomes low. Bur the new version has fixed this issue. So you should upgrade to utorrent 2.0.3 or some other new version of torrent.

I am having 512kbps BSNL Broadband connection. I am not even getting 180 kbps. My details for net connection are mentioned below.
    Net Connection: 750UL Combo 512
    Modem: Huawei
    Router: Cisco router

You are having 2mbps plan and as far as I know no one can get more than 256kbps download speed for 2mbps connection. Even I use 750UL Combo 512 kbps connection(Bandwidth). I get 235kbps download speed with bit torrent. Use good torrent with better seed to peer ratio to increase your utorrent download speed. Hope this will help you to solve your download issue.
