Wifi Configuration for Huawei EC1260 Modem

Hi,

I am having Huawei Datacard of product number EC1260 working with CDMA [EVDO]. I would like to connect this modem to a Wireless Router. I have a AZTECH wireless router, and configured everything on that but my Modem is not getting detected in the router. Could anyone have already configured this modem with WiFi router? Will this work?

Have you installed the mode driver correctly? Huawei EC 1260 supports CDMA 1x RTT & CDMA 1xEVDO Rev A. The modem auto Installs and is compatible with Windows 2000 (SP4), Windows XP (SP2), Windows Vista 32/64bits, Mac OS ( 10.4 version). It is 60mm×25.3mm×12mm weighing about 20 gm.

Do you mean connecting the modem to Windows machine?? I am trying to plug in this modem to a Wireless USB Router and get the internet shared. Do you have any input on that?

A wireless network can connect several devices or several computers on a network, without any wired connection. Today wifi are secured by wep protection. That means if you want to join a wireless network then you will need a authentication. So check the security settings of your system. You might need to add a shared public key to use the wireless internet.
