    Exclamation Using Plug-to-surf in Ubuntu

    Recently i have booted my system dually with the existing windows XP with Ubuntu 9.04 Operating system. The Ubuntu 9.04 is not detecting the plug surf modem. please guide me in this matter do i need something to be installed in order to get this modem detected on my system. Also tell me if i am missing something.

    To solve this matter i would like to know which model of the plug 2 surf modem are you using so that i can help you in this matter. Since all the models of the plug 2 surf modem modem are not compatible with Ubuntu 9.04 operating system. Hope you got my point and you will post the model number in your future replies.

    As far as i think you will have to install the drivers for the same because the drivers of windows XP will not work in this case. you can download it from the tataindicom official website or simply click the link www.tataphoton.com .

    simply log on the tata indicom and then click the TATA PHOTON and then select tata photon plus.

    I will suggest you to visit the link which i have mentioned below in order to get rid of this problem. Also you can take help from the pdf file which is attached with the thread. i would also suggest you to download it. But before that also remember to download the drivers from the tata indicom website.

    Follow the below steps to configure your Tata Indicom Mobile / Walky / USB Modem using USB data cable.
    1. We can access internet only using USB cable / USB Devices on Linux OS.
    2. Driver’s installation for USB data cable is not required in Linux OS.
    3. The device can only be accessed from root login which is admin login in Linux OS
    4. Linux OS has 2 types of desktop environments Gnome and KDE. We can configure using
    any of the desktop environments, either Gnome or KDE

    Have you not called the customer service from your tataindicom phone if not then you must call the customer care and you will surely get the instruction regarding the same from the tata indicom customer care.

    They will surely guide you in this matter so that you can connect to internet through the plug 2 surf modem. hope that this helps.
