You cannot do that on your own. There are some local shops which do the work. You will need to contact them out. Go to some better mobile repair shop. The one thing you can try is creating your profile in the modem. For that in the Idea Netsetter click on Tools > Options > Profile Management and then click on New. Follow the screen wizard.

You can try the above methods given by Ritesh to unlock the idea 3g netsetter huawei e1550. However, from what I have heard from the sources is that the Idea India E1550(3G) is impossible to unlock. Those who need to use other SIM Card should download DOM CALC genrate flash code via imei to use as password for Flashing and Patch Firmware to downgrade idea customized firmware it enable your modem to use any operator's SIM Card.

I guess the unlocking software or/and process for every net-setter from idea should be same. I shouldn't differs with every model number. So what i can suggest you is just tryout the steps/tip given by Ritesh Singh. Here it is :

i think i got this type of modem.
i unlocked my modem by changing firmware and its successful !
first i inserted airtel sim card and i am using now.
but now i am not able to use other sim cards ( even idea also)
how to make it possible

Hi scientisttoday,

If you are facing problem in your modem like the one that you describe that you cant use any other sim card, then I will recommend you to revert back to some previous firmware when it was working fine, or later in future it can brick, you never know. Usually, it is very risky to play with firmware's and ending up damaging the hardwares.

You should know that IDEA modems have pin code stored in modem. If other sim (not original sim) is inserted with disabled pin number or other pin number, then modem modem will enter wrong pin number to sim card and will block it. This is reason why you see no network with unlocked modem. The solution is that user should always use sim card that has sim pin enabled. Pin code must be 1234. Other pin code not accepted.

Firmware is the basic software or operating system (you can call) on which the device is made.It is a software that is embedded in a piece of hardware. Any electronic device like mobile, gaming consoles, media players etc.. have the firmware and updating it can cause many problems of your device with offering lots of new features. Secondly, am not sure whether doing this will unlock your e1550 netsetter.
