Re: How to connect 2 pcs with one broadband line

WiFi Network between 2 PCs running XP without intermediate router:
PC 1: ADSL Modem Internet Ethernet (LAN & WIFI)
    WiFi card
PC 2: without the internet modem
    WiFi card

Generally the problem is a problem of file shares and not a problem of detection of wireless network by the PC 2.

The first rule is to install the 2 WiFi card on each PC, configure them in "ad hoc" (not infrastructure) and give them the same SSID WiFi network (possibly with WEP encryption). Log on as the Internet.

At this point the wireless connection between 2 PCs must be established, but you still can not share files and internet connection.

The second step is to uncheck the option "Simple File Sharing" on the 2 PC (reboot the post after that).

The last step is to create a new network connection
"Control Panel / Network Configuration" on each PC.
    Right: select "New Network Connection"

    Follow these steps:
    • On 1 PC with internet modem:
    • Make sure the WIFI connection or missing, otherwise it means that your network access is not active). then check the "ignore idle network" and then following
    • At this stage you must choose the network connection internet if your PC is connected to the internet you should see the "active Internet connection network" and to select

You can connect two pc using router.

    • Insert the CD with the included router software
    • Install software for the router
    • Router setup (password rules, etc.), see manual.
    • Setting up the router is a must.
