you have heard that it is not possible to unlock device remotely.

I guess you cant use the idea sim of mobile phone on netsetter for internet because Idea Net Setter is a terminal available for high-speed wireless network access, with which the users can access the Internet in the wireless way at home, office, outdoor sites and so on. And as for the link, it might have been removed becuase it was not valid.

I have bought a new one so how can i do things so that it asks for an Unlock code and incase if asks wat is the assurance that the same will be unlocked without damaging the software/firmware.

getting the netsetter unlock from here and there can even damage or make your device dead. So it is better to contact your customer care for the same or for some tips regarding the same. One of my friend has unlocked his netsetter from a site and guess what, he is now unable to use it anywhere, its completely dead.
