What does 1000 kb/sec mean

Hi friends

I want to ask you simple question. I want to buy internet connection for that i called local ISP he told me to one plan on that i will get 1000 kb/sec surfing speed. Can you tell me what does 1000 kb/sec mean ?

You are operators offering you 1 mbps plan. On that You will get 1000 kb/sec speed. download speed you will get 100 kbps. What is monthly rental he told you for this plan ?

He gave me 2 / 3 plans - 512 kbps and 64 kbps and plan which you told me 1 mbps.
512 Kbps - Rs. 1000 per month
256 kbps - Rs. 500 per month
1 Mbps - Rs. 1500 per month

This plans are costly : check here Broadband Unlimited Plans Now MTNL also launched unlimited plan at Rs. 999 (256 kbps).
