MTNL HSDPA Data services tariff plan

MTNL, Mumbai launches HSDPA (High Speed Down link Packet Access) Data services for Dolphin and Trump customers’. This service will be provided on New Trump SIM starter kit. The HSDPA card on offer will support data download speeds up to 3.6 Mbps, data upload speeds up to 384 Kbps and SMS services. It will be downward compatible (i.e. it will support 2.75 & 2.5G data services).


Trump customers

The Trump customers have to buy a new HSDPA Trump SIM starter kit. The MRP of this SIM kit is Rs.300. This will have zero balance and zero validity. The activation of HSDPA facility will be customer controlled and can be activated by recharging the HSDPA coupon of Rs.149/-. The activation is similar to normal SIM activation which is by making a voice call.

• Free data download(to be consumed in 1 month) : 60 MB
• Charges beyond free download : Rs.5/- per MB
• Validity : 30 days.

In Rs. 2500 Data Recharge coupon you will get 10 GB Free data usage .

Dolphin customers

The Dolphin customers have to buy a new HSDPA Dolphin SIM starter kit. The MRP of this SIM kit is Rs.300/-(A security deposit of Rs 500/- which will be charged for individual customers only and waived for corporates).

The details of the monthly plans are as follows.

Monthly fixed charge : Rs. 149/-
Free data download(to be consumed in 1 month) : 60 MB
Charges beyond free download : Rs.5/- per MB

The data pulse rate for charging is fixed at 50 paisa per 100 KB.

This tarrif plan is costlier compare to Reliance and TATA. Second thing is that still MTNL not launched proper 3G network in mumbai. They launched 3G service only in Mumbai. So guys wait till MTNL not launched there service properly in Mumbai.
