Idea call cricket stars campaign records over 2 million calls

Idea Cellular operator launched its communication campaign last week enabling fans to call players of the Mumbai Indian teams, said it had received 2 million calls and messages with the master blaster Sachin Tendulkar topping the list with nearly 50 % of the calls, followed by spinner Harbhajan Singh and pace bowler Zaheer Khan. Till April 30, Tendulkar received a record 9.5 lakh calls and messages, followed by Singh at 7.05 lakh calls and Khan 1.3 lakh calls.

"We are really surprised by the unprecedented calls that had started coming in ever since we launched the campaign on April 30. We are indeed overwhelmed by the response the fans have shown and Idea Cellular will make the call and SMS details available to the players," Idea Cellular Chief Marketing Officer Pradeep Srivastava said in a statement.

IDEA ‘Women’s Card’ call charges are as follows:
• Rental charge is Rs. 99, taxes extra
• Local charges from Idea to Idea and other mobiles is 99p per min. Idea to landline is 99p per 30 sec
• STD charges from Idea to mobiles and landlines costs 99p per 30 sec
• Local SMS charges are at Rs. 1 per SMS, national SMS at Rs. 2 per SMS, international SMS to Gulf area is Rs. 3 per SMS and international SMS to ROW is Rs. 5.
• ISD calls to USA, Canada, Europe, Singapore and Hong Kong costs Rs. 6.40 per min and to other countries is Rs. 9.12 per min.
