    Ethernet Leased Lines Advantages

    Ethernet Leased Lines Advantages

    Saving on Cost
    • The network simplification offers saving in capital and operational expenditure.
    • No special learning curve to set up WAN connectivity.
    • Scalable bandwidth upto Gbps without any hardware change

    Simplicity

    • Ethernet is omnipresent in LANs.Extending the same simplicity in WANs using Ethernet services simplify network operations, administration and maintenance.
    • It provides an Ethernet hand-off that makes it ‘Plug and play’.

    Quality of Service Features

Ethernet Leased Line services offer dedicated capacity, with Quality of Service (QoS)and protection features.

    Prioritization of Critical Applications

The network should be intelligent to differentiate between the mission critical applications and other applications in order of priority .Class of Serivce (CoS) capabilities enable enterprises to assign different priority levels to specific applications to differentiate between voice, video,ERP,CRM,SCM and non-mission critical applications like e_mail,FTP and web browsing.

    Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery

Increasingly IT managers are concerned about the susceptibility of isolated SAN islands to a serious failure. These failures can be caused by natural weather events or unforeseen circumstances. Considering this, business are rapidly moving to develop and implement business continuity and disaster recovery plans. This , in turn, creates a demand for high bandwidth ,low-latency connectivity between data centers which can be provided by Reliance Ethernet Leased Line.

    Bandwidth Aggregation

Enterprises having a central location that connects to multiple sites via different links, can leverage the bandwidth aggregation feature to realize cost savings. Multiple links converging at single node can be aggregated onto one Ethernet interface thereby

    • Reducing the number of WAN ports
    • Reducing the number of CPEs required
    • Simplify management

They suffer from single points of failure. If any link fails some devices will be unable to communicate with other devices and if the link that fails is in a central location lots of users can be cut off from the resources they require. It is possible to trick switches or hosts into sending data to your machine even if it's not intended for it.

    Re: Ethernet Leased Lines Advantages

Large amounts of broadcast traffic, whether malicious, accidental, or simply a side effect of network size can flood slower links and/or systems. It is possible for any host to flood the network with broadcast traffic forming a denial of service attack against any hosts that run at the same or lower speed as the attacking device. If switches discover more MAC addresses than they can store (either through network size or through an attack) some addresses must inevitably be dropped and traffic to those addresses will be treated the same way as traffic to unknown addresses, that is essentially the same as broadcast traffic.
