Airtel Speed on Demand

I was just surfing airtel website and found something call Airtel Speed on demand. Can anybody explain me what is this service?

The Speed on demand service allows you to change your speed of Internet access without changing your plan..

Charges on per hour basis:
256,512,1Mbps,2Mbps

Rs25,40,75,120 respectively

Is it availablle in Mumbai?

yes its available all over india....but speeds are not constant...airtel monitors it... i get speeds of 262Ks while 2mbps...which decrease after 15~20 min.... goes to 180Ks. Not very promising...

known as BOD (Bandwidth on Demand) Its like if you are 64/128k speed package you wanna download around 700MB data or a movie, by using the same for a particular time period time you can change your plan/speed and after that down will complete you can roll back to original speed. so charges will be for the particular period.
