IDEA Cellular has launched its EDGE enabled USB data card – NetSetter – for prepaid and postpaid subscribers in Mumbai. The new plug & play NetSetter provides anytime-anywhere wireless Internet access, and is compatible with the Windows 2000, XP, Vista, and Mac operating systems.
Sashi Shankar, chief operating officer, IDEA Cellular, Mumbai, said, "By just plugging in, the new IDEA NetSetter will help mobile Mumbaikars stay connected with the rest of the world. Its compatibility with multiple operating systems and attractive price range gives it an edge over other existing USB data cards available in the market today."
The USB data card is priced at Rs. 2,490. Though available for both prepaid and postpaid, Idea has revealed only the prepaid plans. For starters, Idea has an introductory offer for its customers giving 50 MB worth of free download and above that, an additional of 1 paise/10KB will be levied. THowever, for avid net surfers, there s an unlimited plan with a daily charge of Rs. 30. In addition to its net surfing capabilities, NetSetter also allows users to send and receive SMSes on their desktop or laptops.
IDEA NetSetter is also available for postpaid customers. Compatible with both laptop and desktop, IDEA NetSetter offers additional benefits such as allowing the user to send SMS along with group messaging.
