Long range Wifi network

I am in wifi network and I cannot almost reach the Internet in my room, I can reach it just outside the door, but it is worse that I cannot catch it completely in my room.

So my question is, is there anyone who can tweak some or any programs to improve the scope of the network. I can not go into the router, as it must, in other words be "client side" if you can say it.

please write your tweak to improve the range on my wireless network card.

AH I was probably not enough descriptive. It is a laptop and it is an internal network adapter.

If you can not catch the wireless network with your current card, try to buy a card with a long antenna. They must cost relatively cheap.
