MTNL Mumbai is launching MCA services for Dolphin & Trump mobile subscribers. Many calls are missed due to network problems, out of reach situations, or a subscriber’s phone being switched off. MCA is a service which enables subscriber to get particulars about such missed calls which include details like who has called and when, and receives all the information needed to return the call. In order to avail this service the settings for call divert to the number 789 is to be made from the mobile handset.

  • Subscriber needs to forward calls to 789 for desired condition like Unreachable condition, if busy, out of reach etc. (note: call divert settings in handset is required).
  • If subscriber is unreachable and somebody calls to this subscriber, call will be routed to the forwarded no. (i.e. 789).
  • In switch (MSC) 789 is routed to MCA system. The system will capture A party, B Party no. and time stamp.
  • The MCA server will then push the SMS to SMSC, which contains MCA information.
  • When subscriber comes in network SMSC will push the above pending SMS, which contains information of missed calls, to the subscriber.
  • If subscriber gets multiple missed calls, then all the missed call information will be clubbed in one SMS, or if the text exceeds 160 characters, multiple SMS messages may be sent.


The MCA service shall be provided FREE upto 30.11.2008.
