    PC retstarting repeatedly

    Hi,

I have been facing a peculiar problem over the past month & a half.

I bought a new assembled PC and since then its giving me major problems.

The biggest being that the PC reboots/restarts repeatedly and an error code shows:

    The code is:

    Error Signature:

    BCCode: 44 BCP1: 85E2C008 BCP2: 00000D62 BCP3: 00000000
    BCP4: 00000000 OSVer:5_1_2600 SP:2_0 Product:256_1

    Error Report Contents:

    C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER7008.dir00\Mini061208-01.dmp
    C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER7008.dir00\sysdata.xml

To resolve the unknown issue, I have already done the following:

Got a memtest done - all parts were showing good
Changed the motherboard from ASUS to Intel G33
Changed the fancy iball cabinet with a spacious one as the temperature was higher than normal as per the memtest
Replaced the Seagate 160 GB RAM with a new RAM of the same brand & capacity
    Run the checkdisk utility

But I still face these error codes as the system restarts automatically.

I am using a bulk SMS software on this PC and it restarts only when that software is working...interestingly...the same software works perfectly with my old system with config: 256 MB RAM/40 GB HD...doesn't restart even once..

    Can anybody please help..please...

To make matters worse, I do not have a tech background...have been readfing like hell and already worked with 4 engineers/vendors

Try running Prime95 as a torture test. Go to Options -> Torture Test. Let it run for an hour. See if it reports any errors. It will stress your CPU and a bit of your memory, but will not do anything with video. It's a good torture test to see if your CPU is stable and the CPU cooling is adequate. It's a good idea to watch the CPU temperature while running the torture test.

How is your power supply? A failing power supply, or a power supply that is too wimpy, can cause sudden shutdowns or blue screens as you describe. Especially when you are in a game that causes the CPU and video card to draw a lot of power.
