hp officejet 6500 printer - duplex printing issue

Hi,
When using "Open Office" program to do duplex printing, the printer doesn't give enough time to reverse the pages. It starts printing again in about 5 seconds.
When using Microsoft "Office 2010" program, duplex printing works fine.
The printer is an HP officejet 6500.
Any ideas?

I think that you will need to install the latest HPLIP in your pc and then remove the current printer and then reinstall the same printer. After that you will get the option to enable the duplex printing properly. Also could you tell us what paper size are you using? There was some case that describes that you will not be able to print borderless, that is by using A4 Borderless and duplex.
