Re: Marvell PCB Alternatives for Western Digital

Hey friend I am having a Western Digital WD1600JB-00REA0 and I am looking after for its PCB. I am not able to find out the same. So can you just suggest me an alternative for it like the one that have been tested out. I have found some sites delivering the same but they are costing too much, I cannot afford from there, once I get an idea about the alternate pcb then I will try to swap out the same if possible, if you are not aware of the same then can you give me some tips so that I can try matching some PCB and find out the best alternative for Western Digital WD1600JB-00REA0, any help regarding the same will be highly appreciated.

I am not very sure but I don’t think that swapping the PCBs will work anymore with the new drives. As far as matching PCB is concerned, PCB is just a small white labels and one nee3ds to compare 2 leftmost groups of numbers. I also wanted to add that if the MCU chip is Marvel then swapping the PCBs won’t work out for you but if it is not a Marvel chipset then you can try swapping the rom chip from a dead board, this things look easy but are quite messy to try out. will suggest you to better replace those failed components instead of swapping the pcb from some other board. What’s your case?? Why is there a need for swapping the pcb? Is it burnt or something like that?
